4-5 July 2018 Seoul, Seoul-T'Ukpyolsi, Republic of Korea
1st Global Land Degradation Neutrality Forum

As part of its efforts towards land degradation neutrality (LDN), the Government of the Republic of Korea, in partnership with the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), proposed holding a 'Global LDN Forum'. The Forum will provide an opportunity to explore and discuss insights and experiences on how the global community can strengthen partnerships to support achieving LDN. It will also look into options to promote peace and security and improve the living conditions of communities in cross-border regions through LDN implementation, including through sustainable land management (SLM). The outcome of the Forum will be delivered to other global fora to forge decision making in the UNCCD and on LDN implementation.

The Forum will: showcase collaboration and partnership building; contribute to the promotion of peace by facilitating the sharing of best practices and experience on transboundary cooperation in land management and rehabilitation; and share experiences on how LDN-relevant initiatives can best collaborate to maximize multiple benefits.
