16th Session of the WMO Commission for Climatology (CCl)

The 16th Session of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Commission for Climatology (CCI-16) will convene in Heidelberg, Germany, to: hear reports from the Secretary-General on the World Climate Services Programme and its contribution to the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS); review ongoing activities; address CCI strategic planning; and consider priorities for the Commission's future work on climate data management, monitoring and assessment, prediction and projection, user interfaces for climate adaptation and risk management, capacity development and Climate Services Information System (CSIS). The Session will also elect officers and decide the workplan and future structure for 2014-2018. CCI is one of WMO's eight technical commissions and coordinates collaborative work among climatologists worldwide. The Commission meets once every four years.
