This session of the Joint Scientific Committee for the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) will discuss a WCRP programme. A key topic of discussion will be the role of WCRP research in the Global Framework for Climate Services, including how to develop the next generation of applied climate research. The WCRP is sponsored by the International Council for Science, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
