9 March 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a document containing party submissions in preparation for the seventh session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP7), to be held in Bonn, Germany, from 29 March-8 April 2009. The document is titled “Further elaboration of the options, elements and issues contained in annex IV to document FCCC/KP/AWG/2008/3 [possible approaches targeting sectoral emissions and on greenhouse gases, sectors and source categories to be covered] and annex III to document FCCC/KP/AWG/2008/5 [possible options for consideration relating to land use, land-use change and forestry], including on which proposals could address cross-cutting issues, and how.”

The document (FCCC/KP/AWG/2009/MISC.5) was created in response to an invitation for party submissions during the resumed sixth session of the AWG-KP, and consists of 12 submissions from the following parties: Australia; Belarus; Canada; Chile; China; Czech Republic on behalf of the European Community; Iceland; Japan; New Zealand; Russian Federation; Saudi Arabia; and Switzerland.
